Why Phi Sig?
Phi Sigma Sigma’s Beta Rho chapter was founded in May 1960 at Drexel University, around 47 years after its national founding in 1913. The chapter at Drexel is one of 150 in the U.S. and Canada. Members worldwide share like values, experiences, and the strong bonds that demonstrate true sisterhood. The women of Phi Sigma Sigma share a commitment to lifelong learning, leadership through service and inclusiveness.
As the first non-sectarian sorority in the Greek system, embracing individuality remains one of Phi Sigma Sigma’s strongest attributes. Phi Sigma Sigma’s national philanthropy is the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation, a non-for-profit foundation which supports the National Kidney Foundation as its primary philanthropic endeavor. Furthermore, we raise money for the National Kidney Foundation during our yearly Rock-A-Thon. Phi Sigs rock in rocking chairs for 24 hours to raise money for this philanthropy. Phi Sigma Sigma is rich in tradition and friendship. The sisters of Phi Sig are all about living it up and making the most of our years together. The memories made as a Phi Sig are ones to cherish for a lifetime...
Scholarship: In our sisterhood, we emphasize the importance of scholarship. Scholarship makes us well rounded and helps us prepare for the future. Our sisterhood works hard to assist members in making their academic goals, though weekly study hours, finals week study breaks, and awards. Members are also educated on how they can locate financial aid such as scholarships, grants, and loans from the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation.
Sisterhood: When you join Phi Sig, you will find a home away from home. Our sisterhood shares common goals, interests, likes and dislikes-but most importantly, a universal bond, making Phi Sig the place to be. From movie nights to workouts, and even planting trees in New Jersey, the Beta Rho chapter is always finding new ways to create wonderful memories with our sisters.
